President William Ruto in Homa Bay for county investment conference

President William Ruto has arrived in Homa Bay to officially open the county government's 2nd investment conference. The president was received by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga who is hosting the county's big moment to scout for investors. The conference is being attended by hundreds of investors including heads of key banking institutions in the country. The three-day event seeks to bring both international and local investors to tap into the county's investment potential.  Ruto will also inspect various projects currently ongoing in the county. Some of these projects are the construction of 110 units of affordable houses in Homa Bay town, the renovation of both Homa Bay and Kendu Bay piers and the construction fish market in Homa Bay town.

Tuesday, September 13, has been declared a public holiday to pave the way for the swearing-in of President-elect William Ruto as Kenya’s fifth head of state. Head of Public Service Dr Joseph Kinyua who is chairing the Assumption of the Office of President Committee on Tuesday announced the holiday, noting that a gazettement will be issued later this week. “The day of the wearing-in shall be a public holiday of general observance throughout the territory of the Republic of Kenya. Security heightened in Nairobi ahead of DP Ruto tour

Security has been beefed up in Nairobi ahead of Deputy president William Ruto’s tour. Ruto is expected to tour Roysambu area on Friday. He will be at Marurui via Kiambu Road at 9am. From there he is expected in Kahawa West Roundabout at about 10am and Soko ya Mawe, Githurai 44 at 11am. Ruto will visit Zimmerman, Kamiti Road at noon before going to TRM, Roysambu Roundabout, Santon, Mwiki, Njiru shopping centre and Njiru/Ruai junction. Police has said there will be traffic jams on the roads occasioned by the rallies. Motorists have been urged to avoid the routes for the better part of the morning to avoid the expected traffic jam. Deputy President William Ruto urges the police service to offer their services without discrimination across the country. Speaking in Nakuru the Dp said the biggest threat that this country can face if police if the police service only responds to political interest. The Dp comments came following what was witnessed during the by-election in Matungu and Kabuchai constituencies and London ward in Nakuru. The Dp reminded the inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai and the entire police service that the police is an independent unit and should carry out its operation as stipulated by the constitution. He added that the judiciary should stand up to be counted as an independent institution and not listen to any lecturers from any quarters.
