MOH Reports over 900,000 Malaria vaccine Administered in Kenya

Since Kenya became the first country to pioneer a Malaria vaccine in 2019, over 750,000 doses have been given to children in lake-endemic counties. At least 275,000 children have received at least one of the four scheduled doses, according to Kenya's health ministry, while 45,000 have received the full dose. The GSK vaccine is part of Kenya's fight against the disease, which kills between 1 million and 1.3 million people worldwide each year. Lobby group has asked the court to compel Safaricom to delete all the subscribers’ photos taken during the current Sim card registration. Katiba Institute and LSK have moved to court challenging the decision by Safaricom to obtain photos or biometric data as a requirement for Sim registration. They termed the move illegal. Three Arrested Over Viral Assault Of Old Lady and Young Man

Three people have been arrested following an incident where a woman and a young man believed to be her son were assaulted in Ringa, Rachuonyo East, Homa Bay County under unknown circumstances. In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) said the three; Dedan Kimathi Agan, Enos Odhiambo Osoo and Lukio Okwiri are in police custody. Police added that the three suspects are being processed and will be charged with assault and causing bodily harm. The video clip circulating on social media prompted Kenyans to call on the authorities to bring the perpetrators to book. Police took note of the incident terming it as an act of victimization against the two which is unjustified, unlawful and cruel.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has clarified details on the requirements exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna needs to meet to return to the country. According to Matiang'i, citing the rule of law, Miguna will be required to fill out a one-page document for citizenship re-registration, which will allow him to return to the country.
