Detectives have seized Ksh.9 million worth of methamphetamine drug at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). The drugs, weighing more than one kilogram, were concealed inside bicycle saddles. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the consignment was bound for Jakarta, Indonesia. “The drug estimated at over Ksh.9 million was stashed among other items declared as bicycle accessories in a consignment being shipped from Moroni, Comoros,” the DCI said. Detectives deployed at the airport to handle immigration crime and suspicious cargo flagged the consignment. Sources indicated that initial laboratory tests had revealed that the students had elevated electrolytes, an indication that their bodies had lost fluids.
