Kenya Railways increases fare Following Increase in Fuel prices

Kenya Railways company has increased fares across all routes in the country by 50 per cent. In the latest review, a passenger travelling to Mombasa will now pay Sh1,500 effective January 1, 2024, up from the current Sh1,000. Tickets purchased before then will, however, not be affected. For those who wish to travel with first class, they will have to pay Sh4,500, up from Sh3,000. “This increase is informed by changes in that energy and petroleum sector where prices of fuel have significantly increased thus increasing the cost of operations,” Kenya Railways said. Legendary Singer Ally B Is Dead

Renowned Kenyan musician, Ally B, has tragically passed away. The news of his demise surfaced on Wednesday, November 1, leaving fans and the music industry in shock. According to Mombasa-based blogger Mykol Machampali, Ally B died while being transported to the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital. Amnesty Wants Life Imprisonment Sentence Reduced To 20 Years

Amnesty International wants the Kenyan government to reduce the life imprisonment sentence to 20 years. This is in the wake of a proposal by the Judiciary seeking to make changes in the penalties given to capital offenders. The Penal Code (Amendment) Bill 2023 and Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) 2023 by the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) through the National Committee on Criminal Justice Reforms (NCCJR) seek to reduce the sentences of murderers, sex offenders, and those facing life in prison to 30 years. 17,124 passports ready for collection from October 31

The national passport delivery will continue into the third week, with 17, 124 passports ready for collection from Monday, October 31. It will be the sixth week of the Rapid Results Initiative. The Ministry of Interior has announced that the passports will be collected from the immigration regional offices from October 31 to Monday to November 3, 2023. In Nairobi, 7,500  passports will be ready for collection at Nyayo House, 1,543 in Eldoret, 1, 752 in Embu, and 1,501 in Kisii.
