South Africa Protests To End At Midnight, Julius Malema Says

South Africa opposition leader Julius Malema has announced that the ongoing protests in the country will end at midnight. While thanking South Africans for coming out in large numbers to join the ‘National Shutdown’ protests, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party leader said the protests have been a success contrary to claims that people did not turn out as anticipated. “Thank you very much the people of South Africa and EFF ground forces for a peaceful yet vibrant EFF National Shutdown. It's just the beginning; now, let's go out and join the picket lines. They said it was a normal day, but you could see who the deceivers were. You proved to the doomsayers once more that we remain the only discipline force or the left. National Shutdown will end at midnight,” he wrote in twe...

JORDYN WOODS
PICKS SIDE IN FEUD WITH Ex-BFF KYLIE

Jorydn Woods is riding with Selena Gomez in a feud that really has nothing to do with her -- well, except for the fact it's Selena vs. Jordyn's ex-BFF, Kylie Jenner and Hailey bieber. Jordyn didn't exactly make a declaration of war, but she did the next best thing when she showed off a lip liner she says she loves -- one from Selena's makeup brand, Rare Beauty. She followed it up with a closer look at the liner, for anyone who wanted to know the color ... and it's ironically called "Kind Words." The timing of her #TeamSelena post seems pretty obvious the week after Kylie allegedly started beef with SG -- because, as we all know, there's been no love lost between Jordyn and Kylie ever since KJ cut her off back in 2019.g Selena posted on social media last week, showing off her ...

Will Smith has finally returned to the awards show circuit, making his first on-stage appearance and acceptance speech since "the slap" at the African-American Film Critics Association Awards on Wednesday. Fuqua took a moment to explain its significance, noting that it "is intended to highlight films that are tackling challenging subjects with insight, enlightening, as well as engaging the audience." When Smith took to the stage, he described the project as "the most individual difficult film" of his career, saying that he found it challenging as a performer to "transport" his modern brain to the mentality of living in that time of American slavery. "It's difficult to imagine that, that level of inhumanity," he said. He then shared a moment from the filming that unfortunat...

Nigeria’s ruling party candidate Tinubu declared president-elect

Nigerians awoke to a new president Wednesday, with ruling party candidate Bola Tinubu declared the winner of the country’s election. As he thanked his supporters he appealed for reconciliation with his rivals, who are already demanding a revote in Africa’s most populous nation. The announcement by election officials overnight was likely to lead to a court challenge by the second- and third-highest finishers in the weekend vote, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. Abubakar also finished second in the previous vote in 2019, and appealed those results although his lawsuit ultimately was dismissed. Tinubu’s ruling All Progressives Congress party urged the opposition Tuesday to accept defeat and not cause trouble after they had demanded a revote, saying that delays in uploading elect...
