Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Vice Chairperson Juliana Cherera has resigned days after President William Ruto suspended her and three other commissioners. Cherera is the second commissioner to hand in her resignation after Justus Nyang’aya decided to vacate his post last week Friday. Azimio La Umoja Team Continue with its Nairobi County tour.

The Azimio la Umoja team, which is however lacking its pointman Raila Odinga who is concluding his UK visit, will on Saturday continue with its Nairobi County tour. They will start their campaign trail in Embakasi West where they will pitch camp at Kariobangi South civil servant before proceeding to the Umoja stage. They will afterwards cross over to Embakasi South for meet-the-people tours in PCEA Church Pipeline, Kimondo, Vision, and Kwa Reuben. The team will finalize the day’s tour in Makadara at the Rally Makongeni Grounds.

Seven Judge bench begin hearing of BBI appeal case.

The BBI case at the Court of Appeal opened Monday with the government securing its first win after the judges struck out part of an appeal filed by Nairobi lawyer Charles Kanjama. Court of Appeal president, Justice Daniel Musinga, appointed the seven-judge bench to hear and determine five appeals filed against the High Court ruling. Justice Musinga will be the presiding judge on the bench that will determine the fate of President Uhuru Kenyatta's BBI. The other judges are Justices Roselyne Nambuye, Hannah Okwengu, Patrick Kiage, Gatembu Kairu, Fatuma Sichale and Francis Tuiyott. The judges are drawn from various court stations.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga on Thursday toured the new green park bus terminal at Railway club. The two inspected various projects within Nairobi they started with Green Park Terminus. Uhuru and Raila were seen walking as they looked around the terminus accompanied by government officials. They later went to a room where they were shown how far the project has proceeded. The aim of the terminus is to decongest the CBD. Boda boda and taxis will use another tarmacked designated area. It will be the drop off and pick up points for about 140 matatus using the Ngong and Langata routes.
