Mvita UDA candidate Omar Shallo is among three people who have been arrested after chaos erupted at Tudor Primary School during a voting exercise on Tuesday. The chaos began after ODM and UDA supporters engaged in a physical confrontation at the station in Mombasa County. The MP candidate is being held at Makupa Police Station. Raila Odinga, the Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya presidential flagbearer, has cast his vote at Old Kibra Primary School in Kibra constituency. While making his entry to the polling station, Raila was surrounded with a mammoth of crowd, who blew vuvuzelas and whistles as his motorcade made entry to the premise. The ODM boss walked into the polling station at around 10:30 am alongside his wife Mama Ida Odinga and part of his security team. Polling clerks and officials guided him throughout the voting process and left immediately. His wife Ida voted in a different stream but in the same polling station.

Roots Party presidential candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah was not able to cast his vote at Matungu in Kakamega County after the IEBC KIEMS kit failed. Prof. Wajackoyah turned up at the Indangalasia Primary School at around a quarter past 10 am. NCIC Names 15-Member Panel For Peace Ahead Of The Elections

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has appointed 15 members to the Kenya Eminent Panel for Peace. Ambassador Francis Muthaura will lead the panel as the convener, with Justice (Rtd) Joyce Aluoch appointed as the co-convener. Archbishop Anthony Muheria, Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit and Archbishop Phillip Anyolo are the committee's faith leaders. A male teacher is being held in Bomet County after he allegedly sodomized three pupils aged between 11 and 13. The suspect was taken to Mogogosiek Police Station in Konoin and is set to be arraigned over the heinous acts at Mosoriot Academy. Konoin police boss Tom Achiya said the suspect, Bernard Kirui, was arrested after one of the victims complained of severe pain and was rushed to Litein Mission Hospital; where it was established that he had been sodomized. CS Munya announces directive to reduce cost of maize flour

The government has suspended all levies on imports for maize and animal feed products effective July 1, 2022. The announcement was made by Agriculture CS Peter Munya who said that the directive would help bring down the cost of maize flour “The government is looking into ways and means of addressing the cost of unga to bring it down so that consumers can afford it,” CS Munya said after inspecting the importation of maize from Tanzania at the Namanga Border Post. Some of the costs that have been waived include KEBS levy, Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) levy, AFRA levy, Port Health Service levy, KRA levy, Railway Development levy, and Importation Declaration Fund levy.
