Nairobi county workers go on Strike.

Normal county operations in the capital have been disrupted after Nairobi county government workers downed their tools. The workers have accused both NMS and City Hall of failing to address their grievances. The Kenya County Government Workers Union (KCGWU) Nairobi branch decried that at least 11,000 county workers have been without medical cover since July Other issues raised by the union is the failure to promote county staff, perennial delay in paying staff salaries, non-remittance of statutory deductions and non-payment of overtime and other allowances. The workers have also decried that the county has failed to provide non-payment of uniform allowances and other dues for retiring employees.

Three people have been killed when suspected bandits raided a home at Ndindika Village, Ngarua division in Laikipia County. One person was injured in an attempted cattle rustling near Laikipia Nature Conservancy. The bandits had driven hundreds animals from different homesteads but were intercepted by security. After a few hours, the bandits returned to the village in bid to revenge over the recovery of the animals. National Police Service spokesman Bruno Shiosi said the incident occurred on Sunday at 4pm. A wanted suspect behind the macabre killing of a 25-year-old woman was arrested as he sought to pick his belongings from the scene of the crime in Nyali, Mombasa. Suleiman Mayanja, a Ugandan national who entered the country last month through the Busia border point, was busted by detectives at the Nyali Cinemax, where he was hiding Monday evening. The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company will shut down the water supply pipeline along Mombasa Road due to ongoing construction of the Expressway Highway.
