Lillian secures first-round win in property dispute with Governor Mutua

Governor Alfred Mutua’s estranged lover Lillian Nganga has won the first round of their bitter court battle over a property dispute. This is after the court dismissed Mutua’s pleas to have the case transferred to Machakos where he claimed the dispute arose. However, the court dismissed his objections ruling that the matter will be heard in Nairobi. Mutua had argued that the Nairobi court lacked territorial jurisdiction to hear and determine the case on the basis that the dispute arose within Machakos County. The court also dismissed the county boss argument that it lacked jurisdiction to hear the case filed by Nganga on the basis of the value of the shares and stocks in question. Mutua had also claimed that the issues raised by Nganga in the case were resjudicata arguin...

Ben Affleck and J Lo Kiss Passionately Before Private Jet Flight

Parting is such sweet sorrow -- some English guy once wrote -- but for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck it looks pretty damn sweet ... considering this lengthy and loving embrace before take-off. Super-romantic Bennifer 2.0 was in full effect this weekend as J Lo was boarding a private jet -- the couple showed up together on the tarmac and seemed to have a hard time saying goodbye. Ben was giving off serious "Pearl Harbor" vibes ... looking much like his character from the 2001 movie as he stood next to the jet that was about to carry his GF outta town. They hugged and kissed on the tarmac Saturday afternoon, and got in even more smooches and cuddles as she was walking up the stairs. We can't really explain that O-face Ben made at one point, but you can almo...

AU calls for immediate release of detained officials in Sudan

African Union Commission chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat has called for the immediate release of arrested leaders in Sudan.  Unidentified armed men arrested a number of Sudanese leaders early Monday, after weeks of tensions between the military and civilian transitional authorities. The detentions came as tensions peaked between the military and civilian figures who shared power since August 2019 following the ouster of autocratic President Omar al-Bashir months earlier. In a statement on Monday, Moussa said the arrest of political leaders goes against human rights. Among those arrested are Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdock and other civilian officials. KNH to be closed for six months for renovation

Kenyatta National Hospital will be closed for at least six months of renovation. The aim is to upgrade the 1,800-bed facility and then attract Kenyans who for years have gone to more costly private hospitals. They often end up with bills they cannot pay and bodies are not released until the bills are settled. KNH is Kenya's and the region's largest public hospital. During closure, the public facilities built and upgraded by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services will cater for other patients. Already patients are seeking services at other new facilities.
