Ministry of Education announces 2,000 Degree and Diploma jobs

The Ministry of Education has announced 2,000 job openings in Vocational and Technical Training. In a notice , the trainers who will be under the State Department for Vocational and Technical Training will be distributed in various institutions across the country. "Applications are invited from qualified Degree, Higher National Diploma and Diploma holders for the positions of Vocational and Technical Trainers," the notice reads in part. The ministry seeks to hire 1,313 Degree and Higher Diploma holders and 687 Diploma holder trainers. The jobs will be spread in the 47 counties. Kenya, Haiti sign agreement on police deployment

Kenya and Haiti on Friday signed an agreement on the deployment of 1,000 police officers to the Multi-National Security Support Mission in Haiti. President Ruto and Haiti Prime Minister Ariel Henry witnessed the signing ceremony in State House Nairobi. In July 2023, Kenya pledged to offer 1,000 police officers after Haiti appealed for international help with security personnel to assist in its battle against gangs blamed for spiraling violence. Kenya has launched its first-ever Certified Dance curriculum on February 27. The dance curriculum is a celebration of Africa’s heritage and a declaration of unity.  “There are multiple challenges in the dance industry, a huge one, being the lack of regulation. If you decide that you are a dancer, there is nothing to say you aren’t,” Afuzion founder Chiki Kuruka said. "Dance remains a huge pillar of culture, but our current instructors may not know the particulars of history and context. Four Roaming Buffaloes Captured, Taken To Nairobi National Park

Officers from the Kenya Wildlife Service together with a team of veterinary staff on Thursday captured four buffaloes around Nazarene area, in Rongai, Kajiado county. In an official statement, the KWS said the buffaloes were a threat to the residents of the area. The animals have been taken to a safe place away from humans. “The captured buffaloes were released inside Nairobi National Park in an environment with ample foraging space,” said KWS. The officers said they are actively continuing their search for four remaining buffaloes, so they can move them to the national park. This comes days after the Kenya Wildlife team captured a leopard and a snake that were roaming areas around human settlements, and threatening the safety of the people.

Journalist Jacque Maribe has been acquitted in the Monica Kimani murder case. Maribe was acquitted by Justice Grace Nzioka of the Milimani Law Courts on Friday, over lack of evidence.
