Missing lawyer found dumped in Mwingi

A lawyer who had gone missing after an apparent abduction has been found dumped in Mwingi. Hassan Nandwa was found alive in Mwingi on Monday at 1 am and later reunited with his family. This is after he disappeared for more than a week after his abduction. Nandwa was dumped about 200 kilometers away from Nairobi. It is not clear who was behind his abduction and where he was during that time. Supreme Council of Muslims chairman Hassan Ole Nado said he had heard about the release of Nandwa but did not have details. “I have heard he has been found alive and reunited with his family but we are waiting for more information on this,” he said. 2 killed in Mombasa Road crash

Two people have died on Monday while two others were critically injured in a road accident along the Nairobi – Mombasa highway at Still Plant area in Athi River. Athi River subcounty police commander Anderson Njagi said the two died on the spot in an accident that involved a lorry and trailer at around 6am. Njagi said the lorry was travelling from Nairobi to Mombasa, while the trailer was headed in the opposite direction leading to a head on collision. He blamed the lorry driver for the accident. The driver didn’t follow the instructions to divert. He proceeded against the traffic. So, there was a head on collision. Six passengers killed by unknown bandits in Marsabit, 11 injured

The police have reported that at least six people have been killed by unknown bandits in Marsabit. According to the police, the bandits attacked passengers who were onboard a lorry traveling from Marsabit to Bardassa Manyatta. The 6pm incident saw eleven others suffer gunshot wounds. The injured were rushed to Marsabit Referral Hospital. The police said that they are pursuing the bandits who disappeared after the attack. This comes barely a day after 14 people were killed and five others injured in a 12-hour gunfight between herders and suspected bandits in Suiyan, Samburu County.
