Rwanda’s President Kagame in Mozambique for a 2 Day State visit

Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame arrived in Mozambique Friday for a two-day state. The visit comes two-and-a-half months after Rwanda’s deployment of a 1000- strong contingent, made up of the army and the police, that recently launched offensive attacks against insurgents in Cabo Delgado province in the north east of Mozambique. Rwandan businessman gunned down in Mozambique

A Rwandan businessman has been shot dead in Matola municipality, a few kilometres outside the Mozambican capital, Maputo. The police were at the scene for forensic work and the body was taken to a provincial hospital. Some Rwandans have told reporters that the deceased was among people who were being targeted because of their opposition to the current government in their home country. Th...

Ndambi Guebuza, son of former President Armando Guebuza, and the others face charges of blackmail, embezzlement and money laundering. They have not yet commented on the charges. Mozambique's biggest corruption scandal led donors including the IMF to cut funding for the country and the economy to collapse. The trial is being held in a large canvas tent in the grounds of a maximum-security prison in the outskirts of the capital, Maputo. The city's courtrooms were deemed too small for the scores of lawyers, 70 witnesses and 250 media workers who have been accredited to attend. In the opening court session, the judge said all the accused must attend court in ...
