Chief Justice Martha Koome announced on Thursday, that the Supreme Court bench, consisting of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and Justices Mohammed Ibrahim, Smokin Wanjala, Njoki Ndung’u, Isaac Lenaola and William Ouko, will issue a ruling on Sonko's fate Friday afternoon, which will be relayed to the former gover...

The response came hours after the US labelled him and his family as persona non grata in the US. "Why Sonko, why now, just a few months to the general elections? It is with shock and disbelief that I have received the news," he said. "I will never be cowed. Am I the only politician facing corruption case in Kenya?" In a statement on Tuesday, Sonko said he is shocked by the move and linked it to politics.
