It might not be smooth sailing for Mark Zuckerberg in his quest to change Facebook's identity, because we've learned someone was already ahead of him in trying to grab the "Meta" trademark ... and they're willing to give it up to Zuck for a steep price. Back in August, the founders of a company called Meta PC filed to trademark the word "Meta" for computers, laptops, tablets, software and more items relating to tech -- so, right in Facebook's wheelhouse. The founders, Joe Darger and Zack Shutt, tell us they've been operating Meta PC for a little over a year, but recently filed docs to formally trademark their brand. How Facebook lost Sh11b revenue during downtime

Facebook Inc lost an average of Sh24.5 million during every minute it was affected by a service downtime that hit its key applications on Monday. This is according to an estimate by Fortune, the US-based business magazine, which estimated that the tech giant lost a total of Sh11 billion in revenues following the six-hour global outage on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Oculus. The estimates are based on Facebook’s quarter two earnings, which saw revenue of $29.08 billion (about Sh3.2 trillion) over a 91-day period.  The outage, which began at about 6.42pm East Africa Time on Monday and went on till 1.56am on Tuesday, attracted sarcastic memes on Twitter and Reddit with many users who depend on the platforms for social commerce also losing out on bu...

Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp facing glitch despite Customer Service Week.

WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are down this evening. The reason for this is not yet clear and has not been communicated. The glitch has caused messages and interaction interruption among many users. The apps owned by Mark Zuckerberg are widely used to share messages,videos and calls. Ironically this is customer service week while all this is happening .I hope they are able to resolve the glitch as many people are already affected greatly! More to follow, on this story.
