Former Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has passed on. Prof. Magoha is said to have died at a Nairobi hospital following a cardiac arrest. He was sworn into office at the helm of the Education ministry on March 26, 2019 and served up to oct 2022 when President William Ruto named his successor. He only recently joined maseno university as a professor in the Department of School of Medicine. CS Magoha Moves School Re-Opening To Monday, Next Week

The Ministry of Education has changed the nationwide school re-opening dates from Thursday, August, 11 to August Monday, 15 2022. In a press statement on Wednesday, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha said that the changes have been occasioned by an expected delay in the vote tallying process.  “On 1st August 2022, I ordered the early closure of all Basic Education Institutions to allow for adequate preparation and conduct of the General Elections. Education CS Magoha To Release 2021 KCSE Exam Results

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2021 examination results are set to be released by Education CS Prof. George Magoha. The results will be released at the KNEC headquarters on Dennis Pritt Road, Kilimani, Nairobi.  A total of 831,015 candidates sat the exam. The exams were done in 10,413 centres. The papers were disseminated from 483 distribution centers, with Magoha supervising the examination distribution and monitoring exercise. Students had until April 1 to submit their choice of courses to the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service.

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has pardoned two KCSE students from Nairobi caught with mobile phones a few minutes before the national examinations began.  Speaking in Mombasa County on Monday, March 14, Magoha said that the candidates would still carry on with the exams and urged all candidates to concentrate on their exams and avoid any malpractices. He warned all teachers and exam officials against engaging in any irregularities, noting that they would face the full force of the law if caught.  "We shall allow them to take the exams. Magoha Tough on School Fees Payment.

Education CS George Magoha on Monday, June 7, instructed headteachers to use any means necessary to ensure school fees is paid, including sending children with fee balances home. Speaking at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) where he was handing over the Agricultural Laboratory (ALB) building, Magoha acknowledged that some parents from well off families were taking advantage of an earlier directive where he had asked headteachers to be more lenient on matters regarding school fees.
