Traffic Police caught taking bribes attack EACC officers
EACC detectives on a covert operation along the Kisumu - Bondo road on Friday had hard time trying to arrest four traffic police officers at Kombewa.
There was drama during the sting operation that saw a traffic police officer cock his gun and another physically assault EACC detectives to avoid being arrested.
Determined to complete their mission, officers however managed to nab one traffic cop, a sergeant.
According to a report from the anti-graft agency, the policewoman was held in a suspected case of receiving a bribe.
EACC communication officer Yasin Amoro said that the agency had received numerous complaints from members of the public concerning traffic police officers soliciting bribes on major roads in the Western region.
