13 Elephants To Be Flown Into Kenya From The UK

Kenya is set to receive a troop of 13 elephants from the United Kingdom to be released into the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary in Kwale County. The elephants which were raised at the Howletts Wild Animal Park in Kent, UK, will be transferred in a joint project by UK-based nonprofit Aspinall Foundation, the Kenya Wildlife Services and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. According to the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), the project involves returning captive elephants in Europe across the 7,000-kilometer journey to Africa for rewilding The authority says that the herd has been living as a family in the UK and needs to be rewilded together to maintain the family bonds of the animals’ social structures. The Kenyan government has had a one-month window to relinquish management of the country’s football and allow the beleaguered Football Kenya Federation (FKF) back in charge. Court issues arrest warrant against Ndichu brothers

Nairobi court has issued an arrest warrant against two brothers- Paul Ndichu and Edward Ndichu after they once again failed to appear in court for their assault case. Kibera chief magistrate Ann Mwangi ordered the police to arrest the duo. Kenya has been ranked the 27th unhappiest country in a new global happiness report. Kenya ranks 119th out of 146 countries in the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network's 2022 World Happiness Report. Kenyan respondents cited perceived government corruption as the main source of their dissatisfaction, according to the report. This is a slight decrease from last year's happiness index, which ranked the country 121st out of 149 countries. Kenya was ranked 23rd in Africa, behind Uganda, which led the East African Community (EAC) and was ranked 117th worldwide. Three suspects were arrested and vandalized Kenya Power equipment estimated to be worth millions of shillings recovered, after a Directorate of Criminal Investigations-led sting operation in Juja, Kiambu County.   Two of the suspects, Johana Thuku and Stephen Githitu, were arrested after detectives raided a scrap metal yard in Juja’s Matangi area.
