Kenya Defence Forces' capacity for operations received a boost when China handed them an assortment of vehicles and engineering equipment. Cabinet Secretary for Defence Eugene Wamalwa received the wares as Military Aid Gratis to the Kenya Army at Kahawa Garrison in Nairobi. The wares include 20 multipurpose lorries and five water bowsers. KDF soldier found dead in Embakasi in suspected suicide

Police and military are investigating an incident in which a 45-year-old Kenya Defence Forces soldier was found dead in his house after an apparent suicide in Embakasi, Nairobi. Colleagues of the deceased identified as David Kimaru said he was not picking up his calls on Sunday, which was unusual. This prompted them to visit his house, which is within the Embakasi garrison It was then that they discovered he had already died. His body was found hanging on a rope in his house long after he had died. There was no indication of what motivated the incident. Police who visited the scene said they suspect he died a day earlier. President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday arrived at Thika Barracks in Kiambu County to preside over the launch of assorted Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) operational and engineering vehicles and machinery. The president was welcomed by Ambassador Monica Juma. Uhuru is expected to launch the operational vehicles and engineering equipment which is expected to support KDF troops to guarantee Kenya's territorial integrity and sovereignty and protect the citizens. KDF rolls out Covid-19 vaccination .

The Kenya Defense Forces today rolled out the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine to its personnel. Chief defense General Robert Kibochi said this will see all the soldiers and their families get a jab. Speaking at the Kahawa Garrison Kibochi said the soldiers should ignore the fake rumors surrounding the vaccine and take the jab. He said the vaccination was happening at all their garrison include Mtongwe, Nanyuki, Laikipia and Gilgil. He also insisted and assure troops in Somalia will be reached so they do not feel left out. He added that 5,000 new recruits in various training centers will get the vaccination which will play a key role in ensuring that none get infected.
