KCPE And KPSEA Exams Kick Off

Candidates in class eight and those in grade six will today begin their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) examinations.  The exercise has already kicked off countrywide as Education ministry officials and exam supervisors availed themselves at exam collection centres this morning.  President Ruto is expected to oversee the exercise in Kikuyu, Kiambu County on Monday morning. KCPE to be released today

KCPE results are to be released today at 11 am, Education CS George Magoha has said. Magoha is currently briefing President Uhuru Kenyatta before he makes the results public. The candidates can get the results by sending their index numbers to code 20076. Some 1.2 million candidates sat their 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams this year. This year the council registered 1,225,507 candidates in 28,316 KCPE examination centres as compared to 1,191,752 candidates in 28,467 centres in 2020. This reflects an increase of 33,755 representing 2.75 per cent. This comes even as the marking of KCSE exams begins across the country. The exam enters the third and final week. KCPE, KCSE candidates listing Extended by two weeks

The Government has extended the registration of KCPE, KCSE candidates by two weeks. "This is to give an opportunity to schools to ensure all candidates are registered, in the spirit of leaving no child behind in the education sector," Magoha said in a statement on Monday. The final registration deadline is August 14, 2021. The registration exercise was scheduled to close on July 31, 2021.  Magoha said headteachers and principals should ensure that all bona fide candidates are registered for the examination within the final two weeks. "Any candidate who fails to register for the 2021 examination to be sat in March 2022 will only be allowed to sit the examination in December 2022," he said.
