DPP refutes claims he ordered the arrest of Judges Muchelule and Chitembwe.
The Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has refuted claims he ordered the arrest and questioning of High Court judges Aggrey Muchelule and Said Chitembwe.
In a statement on Thursday, the DPP said he was not aware of the reason leading to their arrests and questioning, and that his office had not received any files concerning them.
"Contrary to reports by one Eric Theuri, purportedly speaking for LSK blaming the DPP for the arrest, the DPP is not aware of circumstances which led to arrest or questioning of 2 Judges," Haji said.
He added that in the event their files are presented to his office for advice, he will direct as is appropriate.
The two judges were accused of receiving bribes for various cases they previously handled.
