Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera is set to arrive in Kenya on Tuesday, for a three-day State visit. In a statement, State House spokesperson, Kanze Dena Mararo, said Chakwera, who will be accompanied by First Lady Monica, will be the chief guest at this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations. The fete will be held at Wang'uru Stadium in Kirinyaga county on Wednesday. 3 police officers arrested over escape of suspected serial child killer Masten Wanjala

At least three police officers were on Wednesday evening arrested and locked up in cells over the escape of suspected child serial killer Masten Wanjala. The officers included the Jogoo Road police station deputy Officer Commanding Station and two others who were on duty. They are likely to be produced in court on Thursday with charges of aiding the escape of the suspect from lawful custody and negligence of duties. They were picked up from their work station and taken to Nairobi Area command for grilling before being detained at Capitol Hill cells ahead of the arraignment. The murder of World's 10,000 metres bronze medalist Agnes Tirop has been linked to a possible love triangle. Tirop was found murdered at her home on Rural Estate near Iten town in Elgeyo Marakwet on Wednesday. Police said her husband, who has since gone missing, is the prime suspect in the murder.
