‘Meta’ Trademark Applicants Will Sell to Facebook For $20M

It might not be smooth sailing for Mark Zuckerberg in his quest to change Facebook's identity, because we've learned someone was already ahead of him in trying to grab the "Meta" trademark ... and they're willing to give it up to Zuck for a steep price. Back in August, the founders of a company called Meta PC filed to trademark the word "Meta" for computers, laptops, tablets, software and more items relating to tech -- so, right in Facebook's wheelhouse. The founders, Joe Darger and Zack Shutt, tell us they've been operating Meta PC for a little over a year, but recently filed docs to formally trademark their brand. Ye kicked off a new round of worship and gospel singing Sunday -- and he invited the embattled rocker, who's been accused of sexual misconduct by several women, to join in on the gathering. Three gunmen linked to slain Laikipia police officers killed

Three gunmen who were linked to the killing of three police officers in Laikipia Nature Conservancy have been killed. Their killer weapons were dropped at the home of their spiritual leader in the area hours after they died in an ambush. Police revealed surrendering the weapons indicated the gunmen were killed and buried in a thicket. A source aware of the incident said seven other gunmen were injured and are being trailed.  “The weapons used in the killing of the officers on October 27 were surrendered to the elder and later to the police. The killers also died,” an officer aware of the operation said. Before last week, Somali songbird Nimco Happy was not a global star. But by some stroke of sheer luck and timing, a song she sang at a public function in Baidoa four years ago has gained her international fame. The song, Isii Nafta (I love you more than my life) has gone viral on Tiktok after being used in close to 100,000 videos on the platform. It has also gone on to become a hit on Instagram, YouTube and Twitter, transcending the limits of physical borders. Uhuru to commission Nairobi’s first Level 5 hospital

Nairobi’s first Level 5 hHospital will finally open its doors to  patients this week, Nairobi Metropolitan Services has said. The Sh400 million five–storey Korogocho-Mathare hospital is expected to reduce the patient load at Mama Lucy Hospital, which serves more than 2.1 million people in Eastlands area. NMS director general Mohamed Badi last week told the Senate Health Committee that it is expected President Uhuru Kenyatta will commission the hospital this week. “Construction works at the Korogocho – Mathare hospital are complete and we are hoping it will be commissioned by His Excellency in the first week of November ,” he said.
