Father Arrested While Trying To Sell His Three Albino Children For Ksh.4.7M

A father who wanted to sell his three albino children for use in witchcraft rituals was arrested in Mozambique before being able to close the deal, police said on Monday. Police in the northwestern region of Tete, said three children aged nine to 16 were rescued at the weekend after an anonymous tip-off.  Their uncle was arrested alongside their father. The pair allegedly planned to traffic the minors to neighbouring Malawi where they could be sold for the equivalent of about $40,000, local police spokesman Feliciano da Camara told a press conference. A male teacher is being held in Bomet County after he allegedly sodomized three pupils aged between 11 and 13. The suspect was taken to Mogogosiek Police Station in Konoin and is set to be arraigned over the heinous acts at Mosoriot Academy. Konoin police boss Tom Achiya said the suspect, Bernard Kirui, was arrested after one of the victims complained of severe pain and was rushed to Litein Mission Hospital; where it was established that he had been sodomized. The number of people who died after the Modern Coast bus they were travelling in plunged into the Tharaka Nithi bridge on Sunday has risen to 30. This is after six more bodies were on Monday morning retrieved from the wreckage. Police said 13 others were nursing critical injuries as the search for more bodies which might still be remaining in the river entered the second day. EACC Seizes Assets Worth Ksh.100 Million Belonging To Gov’t Officer Earning Ksh.100

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has seized assets worth Ksh.100 million belonging to an officer of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KERRA), Kajiado County Office. The officer, Esther Wanjiru Chege, is believed to have fraudulently acquired the assets including millions of shillings and 13 parcels of land scattered in various towns including: Kiambu, Nyandarua, Naivasha, Makueni and Kajiado. In a report issued on Friday, EACC said Wanjiru is under investigation “for alleged conflict of interest, embezzlement of public funds and unexplained wealth.” The anti-graft body seized the 13 title deeds after the assets were frozen by the High Court in Machakos on July 19, 2022. Police Impound 347 Rolls, 364 Stems Of Bhang In Separate Operations

Police officers in Siaya county nabbed 347 rolls of bhang on Wednesday that were stacked in a suitcase and a backpack. The National Police Service (NPS), confirming the incident, said that the bags belonged to suspects believed to be minors who had boarded a Nairobi-bound bus. The suspects, however, upon being questioned about the contents of the luggage, abandoned the bags and darted off. A manhunt is currently on to bring the suspects to book. Elsewhere in Nakuru county, police raided a farm in Solai location and discovered it was a breeding ground for bhang. Six Killed, 8 Injured After Gas Cylinder Explodes In Matatu On Thika-Garissa Highway

Six people have died and eight others seriously injured after a matatu they were travelling in collided with a car in a road accident at Kwa Majini bridge on the Thika-Garissa highway in Machakos County. The deceased were burnt beyond recognition after a gas cylinder that was in the matatu burst into flames following the collision.
