Clarification on Fake Gold case from DPP.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has issued a clarification after a local daily reported that the DPP wanted to drop charges against business man Jared Otieno in the Sh23 million fake gold case. In the statement, the ODPP insisted that the case against Jared Otieno and four other individuals is ongoing and there was no intention to withdraw the case. The ODPP called on the media to verify information before publishing to avoid any such incidences, noting that the case was set for mention on Monday 26th for hearing dates to be set, but one of the accused individuals did not appear in Court. The Nairobi Metropolitan Service conducts  Green Park Terminus test run for matatus plying Ngong Road. The NMS Director for Roads Engineer Michale Ochieng on site to supervise the test run at the terminus from as early as 6 am. Police officers were positioned along the Bunyala road roundabout where all PSV were diverted into the terminus. Only private cars were permitted to use Uhuru Highway to join Haile Sellasie Avenue. Inside the terminus, matatus were only allowed to drop off commuters as they exited. Widow of Kiiru Boys principal found guilty of murder

A court has found Jane Muthoni, the woman accused of killing Kiiru Boys High School Principal Solomon Mwangi Mbuthi, guilty of murder. Justice Joel Ngugi also convicted  Muthoni's co-accused Isaac Isaac Ng'ang'a alias Gikuyu. The convicts will be sentenced on May 18. The jury has spoken, and found Derek Chauvin guilty in the death of George Floyd. The former Minneapolis police officer knelt on Floyd, who was handcuffed and face down on the pavement, for more than 9 minutes at 38th Street and Chicago Avenue last May.  Chauvin was taken into custody and will be sentenced in eight weeks. Water supply in Nairobi CBD shut down.

Water supply to the entire Central Business District has been shut down due to a pipe damage, Nairobi water has said. In a notice on Wednesday, the Water company said the damage of the pipes was done by the Express Way Contractor. "The line has been shut to pave way for repairs. Bear with us as we work to restore supply in the shortest time possible," they said. The ongoing construction of the Sh62 billion Nairobi Expressway which has gained pace has in the past interrupted the water supply in Nairobi. The tunnel alone is being constructed for Sh6.8 billion, the treatment plant at Sh6.5 billion, while the pipeline will cost Sh4.6 billion.
