Police Officer Dies By Suspected Suicide In Kirinyaga

A police officer attached to the Kerugoya Police station in Kirinyaga County was on Wednesday found hanging from the roof of his rented house in Kerugoya town. His caretaker, Ann Wanjiru, said that she had gone to check up on him because he had been missing since Monday. Wanjiru said that after efforts to try and open the door turned futile, she decided to use an object to peep through the window, where she discovered a body hanging from the roof. "I tried to open it in vain as the door was locked from inside. I was shocked after seeing the body I immediately called the authorities," Wanjiru said. An explosion at a fuel depot in Azerbaijan's Nagorno-Karabakh has killed 20 people and injured hundreds more, local Armenian authorities say. Nearly 300 people were admitted to hospitals, with dozens of them "still in critical condition". It comes as the Armenian government said 13,350 refugees crossed into the country from the enclave. A 17-year-old student in Uganda has been apprehended after he was found responsible for the trafficking of 170 youths from Uganda into Kenya by offering them scam jobs. According to reports, the minor was acting as an agent for her sister who is attached to a fake company in Kenya under the name Humble Company and had recruited as many young people as possible who were interested in securing the job. Some recruits claimed that they were each required to pay a fee of Ksh.3,901 (Shs.100,00) and others Ksh.1,950 (Shs.50,000) before being housed in a home in Wakiso District, Uganda, awaiting transportation into Kenya. One Injured In Baringo Banditry Attack, Over 300 Cows Stolen

Tension is high in Loruk area in Baringo North after bandits raided, shooting one person and seriously injuring him.  Over 300 cows were driven away towards Paka hills in Tiaty.  The bandits, who were heavily armed struck at around 12pm on Wednesday while the cows were grazing. They started shooting indiscriminately, forcing herders to run away.  Police who engaged the bandits in a fierce shot out were overpowered as bandits made away with the loot.
