CRISTIANO RONALDO UPSET AT COKE BOTTLES AT PODIUM

Christano Ronaldo hates processed drinks so much, he removed Coke bottles from his podium Monday ... all while imploring people to drink water instead. Ronaldo's rejection of the sweet stuff went down just before a meeting with the media ahead of Portugal's UEFA Euro 2020 game with Hungary ... and the whole thing was caught on video. You can see in the footage, just before reporters fired questions at the soccer star, he noticed Cokes placed in front of him (Coke is a sponsor of Euro 2020) and immediately gave them a look of disdain. But, rather than just keeping the products there like tournament officials no doubt wanted -- Ronaldo straight-up grabbed the bottles and moved them out of his sight. He then held up a bottle of water, screamed, "agua!" ... and then appeared t...

An Italian woman has woken from a 10-month coma to discover she is the mother of a baby girl, according to local media outlets. Cristina Rosi, 37, suffered a heart attack and slipped into a coma while she was seven months pregnant in July. As she remained unconscious, doctors performed an emergency cesarean section on Rosi to save her daughter, Caterina. According to her husband, Gabriele Succi, Rosi's first word after waking from the coma was "momma." "We didn't expect it," Succi told La Nazione newspaper. "It was a real joy after so much suffering." To help in her recovery, the new mother was transferred to a neurological rehabilitation clinic in Austria, where her tracheostomy tube was removed by a team of specialists. DR Congo volcano aftershocks rattle residents

Aftershocks from the Mount Nyiragongo volcano in eastern DR Congo rattled the nearby city of Goma on Wednesday, four days after its eruption, badly damaging several buildings and prompting hundreds of residents to flee and the UN to relocate some of its staff. The tremors were felt throughout the night. Two powerful shocks from Africa's most active volcano caused terrified people to run out of their homes. The seismic monitoring agency RSM in neighbouring Rwanda, whose border runs close to Goma, said it had detected a 5.1-magnitude quake at 5:46am local time, followed by a 4.1-magnitude tremor at 6:12 am. The Goma Volcano Observatory (OVG) said that it registered more than 269 tremors between Saturday and Tuesday, with one measuring 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale. Auth...

UN calls for immediate release of Mali President.

The UN mission in Mali has demanded an immediate release of President Bah Ndaw and PM Moctar Ouane, after reports that they were detained by soldiers. This comes after reports that interim President Ndaw and Mr Ouane were driven by soldiers to the Kati military camp near the capital, Bamako. This raised fears of a second coup within a year in the country. Defence Minister Souleymane Doucouré has also reportedly been detained. Late on Monday, Mr Ouane told AFP in a phone call that soldiers "came to get him". The news agency said the line was then cut. The African Union, the Economic Community of West African States, the EU and the US also condemned the arrests, saying Mali's top politicians must be released without any preconditions. The reported detentions came just ...

Murathe denies part in Kemsa scandal.

Jubilee Party vice chairman David Murathe on Thursday faced the Public Investments Committee to answer to questions of his involvement in the Sh4 billion Kemsa tender. I have never supplied, not even a single mask or PPE. It is so sad people think I am Covid-19 millionaire and everybody is calling me for money," he said. Last week, Murathe admitted he was a bank guarantor for a firm implicated in the Sh7.8 billion Kemsa scandal. In an affidavit submitted to the Public Investments Committee, the politician said he guaranteed Kilig Ltd. Murathe had previously denied association with the firm. He denied being a...
