‘America’s Got Talent’ Contestant Skilyr Hicks Dead at 23

The young singer-songwriter passed away Monday, having been found lifeless in the home of a friend -- this according to her mother, Jodi. She says she doesn't know the actual homeowner. Skilyr's body was discovered in Liberty, South Carolina. While the exact circumstances of her death -- including a cause -- are still unknown to the family, Jodi tells us her daughter battled with mental health issues, including depression and substance abuse. She also says Skilyr was loved by her family and 4 siblings -- using her music to help people in need. Jodi says, "She will live on through her music." A plumber doing repair work at pastor Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church found hundreds of envelopes of cash and cheques hidden in a wall that police think is connected to a massive 2014 theft at the Houston mega-church. According to CNN, officers were called to the church on November 10 to investigate the discovery. "Church members stated that during a renovation project, a large amount of money -- including cash, cheques and money orders -- was found inside a wall," statement by Houston Police Department read. Police said that evidence from the recovered cheques suggests that the envelopes are connected to the March 9, 2014, theft of undisclosed amounts of money from the church. Mutyambai son to face charges over fatal accident

A son to Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai is likely to be charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving following an accident that occurred Thursday in Nairobi. David Mwendwa Mutyambai was driving the four wheel drive car that was involved in the accident. Mwendwa is also likely to be charged with causing serious injuries to a pedestrian following the accident. He is out on Sh20,000 cash bail as police investigate the incident along Southern Bypass in Nairobi. The file on the accident is likely to be sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution with the recommendations. The government has lifted an eight-year-old ban on night travel for cargo transporters plying the Lamu-Witu-Garsen road in Lamu County. Since 2014, following terrorist attacks, public service vehicles (PSV) had been operating only during day and in one convoy escorted by armed police. Private vehicles, including those ferrying cargo, were also banned from travelling at night. Speaking in Witu over the weekend, Coast Regional Commissioner John Elungata announced that the ban on night travel for vehicles transporting food, building materials, farm produce and other goods had been lifted. A man was Monday arrested after he allegedly killed his wife and four children in a village in Kirinyaga County in a bizarre incident. The man identified as Paul Murage Njuki, 35, is said to have also defiled one of his deceased daughters before killing her. He surrendered to the local police Monday before he led detectives to the location he had dumped a killer weapon and his house where the bodies were. The children are aged between 13 and one.
