Swahili anchor Lulu Hassan has won the coveted Tuzo ya Mwanamke wa Shoka 2022 for her role in the film Industry in East Africa Region. Her husband and co-anchor, Rashid Abdalla, shared the news, expressing gratitude for the prestigious award which is another accolade added to her career.  "Congratulations Lulu for the prestigious award. Digital hailing cab, Bolt customers will have to dig deeper into their pockets to access the taxi services. This comes after the company increased their fare rates by at least 4 per cent. In a statement on Monday, the company said the increase was necessitated by the recent increase in fuel prices. The changes will be implemented in Nairobi as the company works to review fares across other towns. Two Al-Shabaab militants killed in On going operation in Lamu

Two suspected Al-Shabaab militants were Sunday killed in an ongoing operation in Boni Forest, Lamu County. The two were killed in the Sarira area within the expansive forest and guns found on them. Kenya army troops that clashed with the two said they were in a group of four and that two others escaped. The area has been under operation for years as Kenya seeks to remove the terrorists and their remnants from the region. Lamu County Commissioner Irungu Macharia said the hunt for the others who escaped is ongoing. Two weeks ago, two other suspects were killed in the Baure area. Two Suspected Gangsters Shot Dead Around Eastleigh Area.

Two notorious gangsters linked to a number of violent crimes in and around Eastleigh area have been shot dead by police. The pair was gunned down along Dr. Griffins Road after an alleged fierce gunfight with Starehe-based Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives on Thursday night. Prior to the fatal shoot-out, the duo, alongside two other thugs, is said to have robbed a middle-aged woman at gunpoint along Pangani’s Agoi road; dispossessing her of all her valuables before fleeing on motorcycles. The victim reported the incident to Pangani Police Station, prompting the precinct to reach out to officers patrolling the area who immediately started scouring the streets in search of the thugs. Two people died on the spot and five others sustained serious injuries after the car they were travelling in lost control and rolled at Kwa Kavemba area in Makueni County. Pete Davidson won't be going to space -- at least not during Blue Origin's next trip -- he's dropped out of the flight after it's launch date was pushed back. Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin made the announcement late Thursday, saying, "Blue Origin's 20th flight of New Shepard has shifted to Tuesday, March 29. Pete Davidson is no longer able to join the NS-20 crew on this mission. We will announce the sixth crew member in the coming days." Court denies petition filed by Ex- CS Rotich and Directs Case To Continue

The Milimani High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by the former Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Henry Rotich challenging charges levelled against him in a fraud case. In the application, the Ex-CS had denied accusations of involvement in the multi-billion Arror and Kimwarer Dam scandal that saw a loss of billions of shillings in dubious circumstances. According to a report by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the court upheld the accusations by the prosecution who is the DPP and ruled for the hearing to continue. A Chinese firm that has been running the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) has surrendered more functions to Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) ahead of the full handover May 2022. nitially, Kenya Railways was only tasked with handling ticketing, security, and fuelling functions that were handed to it in March 2021. This was done in accordance with the contract entered between the two parties. Kanye West Suspended From Posting on Instagram for 24 Hours

Kanye West being put in Instagram timeout after going after Kim, Pete, Pete's writing partner and racist attack on Trevoah Noah. A spokesperson for Meta tells us Kanye's recent posts violated Instagram's policies on hate speech, harassment and bullying. As a result, we're told his account has been suspended for 24 hours -- where he won't be able to post, comment, send DM's, among other things. The spokesperson tells us they'll take additional steps if further violations happen. Kanye's been lashing out at more than just Trevor on social media, he's also posted and deleted a bunch of dirty laundry about estranged wife Kim Kardashian.
