Former Olympic champion Asbel Kiprop has joined the list of Kenyan athletes who have survived motorcycle crashes in recent years. Photos of the the three-time world 1,500m champion were on Thursday and Friday circulated on social media with stitches on his face and head from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident a week ago. The veteran athlete, who is just smarting from a doping ban, dismissed claims that he suffered the injuries in a night club brawl.  "It was a bad feeling when I was involved in a road accident. Morocco and Sudan are investigating suspected cases of monkeypox, Africa’s health body says. This comes after outbreaks of the virus have recently been found in Europe, Australia, America and the Middle East. Monkeypox is usually associated with travel to central or West Africa, near tropical forests, but some of the new cases have no travel link. r Ahmed Ogwell, deputy director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control (CDC), confirmed there was still no direct link. Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency has arrested a presidential aspirant of the ruling APC party just days to the party’s presidential primaries. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested Rochas Okorocha in the capital, Abuja, on allegations of corruption involving diversion of 2.9 billion naira ($7m; £5.6m) of public funds and property. The alleged offences were committed during his tenure as governor of the south-eastern state of Imo between 2011 and 2019. He has previously denied the accusations. A court in southern India on Tuesday sentenced a man to 10 years in prison in a ruling that found he abused his wife over their wedding dowry, leading to her death by suicide. The district court in Kerala state found Kiran Kumar guilty under India's "dowry death" law, which allows charges to be brought against people for causing the death of a woman within the first seven years of a marriage featuring dowry gifts and payments. North Korea has fired three ballistic missiles early Wednesday morning, South Korea's military has said. Authorities in Seoul said the missiles were fired in the space of less than an hour from the Sunan area in Pyongyang.
