Ronaldo Banned And Fined Over Everton Fan Clash

Cristiano Ronaldo has been banned for two matches and fined Sh7.4 million (£50,000) for hitting a mobile phone out of a teenage fan's hand at Everton, the Football Association said Wednesday. Ronaldo, now a free agent following his release by Manchester United on Tuesday, was involved in a flare-up with a 14-year-old boy following the Red Devils 1-0 loss away to Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park on April 9. Ethiopia’s Barega stuns Cheptegei to win Olympics 10,000m gold

Ethiopia's Selemon Barega is the new 10,000 metres Olympics champion. The 21-year-old Ethiopian, who is making his maiden appearance at the Olympics, stunned Uganda's pre-race favourite and world champion Joshua Cheptegei to second while Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo was third. Barega clocked 27:43.22 in a stunning sprint finish to take gold while Cheptegei timed 27:43.63 for silver. Kiplimo clocked 27:43.88 for as Barega's compatriot Barihu Aregawi wound fourth in 27:46.16. Barega joins a revered list of Ethiopian greats - Miruts Yifter, Haile Gabrselassi and Kenenisa Bekele - who have won the 10,000m Olympics gold. EURO 2020, giants Portugal and France Face-Off.

Europe giants Portugal and France will face off in the second last group stage match of the Euro 2020 at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium, Budapest in Hungary. Both teams won their opening group F matches. Portugal left it late to put three past Hungary while France managed to beat Germany by a solitary goal. Before the Budapest clash, the two teams will first have to play Germany and Hungary respectively in their second group matches. France has two UEFA Euro titles to its name while Portugal has won it once.. This will be a replay of the 2016 Euro final where Portugal stunned the hosts France, in the final with an extra-time winning goal.
