Qatar To Scrap Pre-Arrival Covid Tests Before World Cup

Qatar is to drop pre-arrival Covid tests before the World Cup, the health ministry said on Wednesday, weeks after announcing that the million-plus incoming fans do not need vaccinations. The latest relaxation in anti-Covid measures will take effect on November 1, 19 days before the first World Cup on Arab territory starts on November 20. The arriving fans, players, officials, staff and media are by far the biggest influx of visitors seen in tiny, gas-rich Qatar, which has a population of just 2.9 million. "Visitors are no longer required to present a negative Covid-19 PCR or Rapid Antigen Test result before travelling to Qatar," a statement said. NCIC Names 15-Member Panel For Peace Ahead Of The Elections

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has appointed 15 members to the Kenya Eminent Panel for Peace. Ambassador Francis Muthaura will lead the panel as the convener, with Justice (Rtd) Joyce Aluoch appointed as the co-convener. Archbishop Anthony Muheria, Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit and Archbishop Phillip Anyolo are the committee's faith leaders. The first aspirant to face the clearing table at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to get the green light for a presidential bid was independent candidate Patrick King'ori and his running mate Winfred Nyang'au. The duo appeared before IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati on Sunday at the commission’s National tallying centre at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi. The Kenya Kwanza Alliance parties signed their Coalition Agreement on Tuesday prior to depositing the document with the Registrar of Political Parties. The signing was done by the Secretary Generals of constituent parties of the coalition at the Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.
