Japan is enjoying one of its best Olympics outings with the Asian country currently topping the 2020 Summer Games medal standings. Japan, who are incidentally the hosts of this edition of the Olympics has collected a total of 22 medals, 13 of which are gold medals. Despite having 31 medals to their name, the USA is placed third on the charts, behind China which has also won more medals than Japan, with the host nation placed higher having won more gold medals

Ugandan Weightlifter Goes Missing in Japan, Leaves Note

A massive search has been launch to find a Ugandan weightlifter who went missing in Tokyo, one week to the start of the Olympics. Julius Ssekitoleko went missing from his team’s camp in Izumisano, a city in Osaka, western Japan on Friday, July 16. Media reports from CNN claim Ssekitoleko left a note saying he wanted to stay and work in Japan, as life in his native Uganda was difficult. The 20-year old weightlifter failed to qualify for the games after his arrival in Japan and was scheduled to fly back to Uganda on Tuesday, July 20. He was recorded at a train station purchasing a bullet train ticket to Nagoya in central Japan, reports further claim. Safari Rally Winner Sebastien Ogier Makes Generous KSh 2.5m Donation to 2 Kenyan Charities

Kenya Safari Rally winner Sebastien Ogier has donated KSh 2.5 million to two Kenyan charities, weeks after the conclusion of the championships. Ogier released a statement on Tuesday, July 13, confirming he had donated the funds to two charities, namely, Nakuru Children's Project and Ol Pejeta Conservancy which would receive half of the KSh 2.5m (€20,000) each. The rally champion further admitted he fell in love with Kenya because of support he was shown by locals during the championships. "This wonderful country got a place in my heart," he added. Co-founder of the Nakuru Children's Project Zoe Kelland took to her Twitter account to express her gratitude to Ogier for the noble gesture, saying the donations would help realise some of the organisation’s ambitions.

Europe giants Portugal and France will face off in the second last group stage match of the Euro 2020 at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium, Budapest in Hungary. Both teams won their opening group F matches.
