Tuju Appointed Executive Director Of Raila’s Azimio La Umoja Secretariat

Former Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju has been appointed the Executive Director of Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja campaign secretariat. In a statement on Wednesday, secretariat Communications Director, Dennis Onyango, said Tuju assumes the role with immediate effect. “As Executive Director, Hon. Tuju will coordinate all member parties of Azimio and will lead the strategic and programme teams that will work to ensure Azimio's victory in the August elections,” said Onyango. Police in Mombasa are investigating an incident in which an aspirant for a political seat in Mvita Constituency was shot and seriously injured in Tudor area. The politician’s car was sprayed with more than 15 bullets, injuring him. Police say they don’t know the motive of the attack on Ali Mwatsau who is a UDA politician. He was rushed to hospital in stable condition as the hunt for the gunmen continue. According to police, the shooting happened at about 10 pm on Tuesday and the gunmen were in two cars. ODM aspirant in Kisii stabbed to death

An ODM aspirant for Kisii's Bombaba Ward seat died on Monday from stab wounds inflicted on him Sunday night by armed assailants.  Thomas Okari,38, died in the wee hours of Monday while undergoing treatment in hospital. Okari had traveled home from Nairobi on Thursday for ODM party nominations before he met his death He was eyeing the Bombaba Ward seat in Bomachoge Borabu, Kisii County. Relatives and villagers said he sustained machete injuries on the head following the attack at his home in Bombaba. Okari was found bleeding profusely before he was rushed to Oasis hospital in Kisii town where he was pronounced dead. They have unanimously supported the Employment (Amendment) Bill, 2021, putting Kenya on the way to become the first country in the region to allow its employees to disconnect from work.
