Song And Dance As Raila Odinga Votes In Kibra

Raila Odinga, the Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya presidential flagbearer, has cast his vote at Old Kibra Primary School in Kibra constituency. While making his entry to the polling station, Raila was surrounded with a mammoth of crowd, who blew vuvuzelas and whistles as his motorcade made entry to the premise. The ODM boss walked into the polling station at around 10:30 am alongside his wife Mama Ida Odinga and part of his security team. Polling clerks and officials guided him throughout the voting process and left immediately. His wife Ida voted in a different stream but in the same polling station.

Four Detained In Kibra Over Alleged Voter Bribery

Police in Kibra are detaining four women for allegedly bribing voters. The first three were arrested at Toi primary polling station after they were cornered by local leaders while trying to influence the ongoing voting exercise. The fourth one was arrested at Kenyatta market station for committing the same offence. Upon interrogation by the authorities, the suspects claimed they were agents allied to t UDA candidate in the Kibra parliamentary contest MacDonald Mariga. Roots Party presidential candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah was not able to cast his vote at Matungu in Kakamega County after the IEBC KIEMS kit failed. The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has appointed 15 members to the Kenya Eminent Panel for Peace. Ambassador Francis Muthaura will lead the panel as the convener, with Justice (Rtd) Joyce Aluoch appointed as the co-convener. In order to allow registered voters to verify their identification before the election next Tuesday, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will make the official voter register available to all polling places on Tuesday, August 2. The Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling later on Friday on whether or not former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko was properly impeached from office.
