Body of Gunmen killed in Kisumu yet to be claimed.

The body of a gunman who was involved in the Kisumu shooting frenzy last Friday has not been claimed and neither has his identity been established. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), nobody has come forward to claim his body or even identify him as a relative, further complicating the investigations. “Preliminary forensic investigations indicate that the assailant’s details cannot be traced in respective government records. The three identity cards that were found in his possession belong to other individuals who have since been identified,” the DCI said. During the incident last Friday, the man is said to have snatched a firearm from a traffic police officer and shot at civilians indiscriminately, killing two people and injuring several others.

Ruto tells Uhuru to stop incitement against him.

Deputy President William Ruto has told president Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga to stop inciting the public against him. The Dp said he played a role in elevating Mr.Odinga to prime minister in the elections that were lead by violence. He also said his support of Raila led him to his prosecution at the ICC Hague yet the person he fighted for did not even pay him a visit. He also said the two should not attack him instead show him support. He added that he is prepared to compete the forces opposed to his presidential ambition. Court receives mental report on Sonko

A mental assessment report in respect to former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko from the Kenyatta National Hospital has been presented in court today. The Director of Public Prosecutions presented the sealed report in court as had been directed by Magistrate Peter Ooko two weeks ago. The DPP said none of the parties in court are privy to the contents of the report. He urged the matter be mentioned on March 15. Ooko had on March 4 directed that Sonko be examined by a government psychiatrist to confirm if he is fit to stand trial. Magistrate Ooko took note of the medical reports from a panel of four doctors from KNH dated 25 February and another by a Dr Pius. President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to address the nation in the next few hours to address the nation on Covid-19 situation and review the containment measures a day after the highest case were reported since January. Ruto urges police to treat Kenyans equally.

Deputy President William Ruto urges the police service to offer their services without discrimination across the country. Speaking in Nakuru the Dp said the biggest threat that this country can face if police if the police service only responds to political interest. The Dp comments came following what was witnessed during the by-election in Matungu and Kabuchai constituencies and London ward in Nakuru. The Dp reminded the inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai and the entire police service that the police is an independent unit and should carry out its operation as stipulated by the constitution.
