President Uhuru Kenyatta among heads of state in Dodoma to attend Magufuli’s mass.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is among the heads of state who have arrived in Dodoma at the Jamhuri stadium for the state funeral mass of the late Tanzania president John Pombe Magufuli. Uhuru who doubles up as the chairperson of the East African Community was accompanied by Cs Adan Mohammed and arrived at the Uhuru grounds a fewminutes after 10 a.m. Presidents present include South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa,Malawi’s Lazarus Chakwera,Botswana’s Mokgweetsi Masisi and Rwanda’s Paul Kagame. The late Tanzanian president will be buried on March 25. Today his body is expected at the Dodoma Uhuru grounds for public viewing before being moved to Mwanza on March 23. Kericho Deputy Governor dies in Hospital.

Kericho Deputy Governor Susan Kikwai has died at the Siloam Hospital in Kericho where she had been receiving treatment. Kikwai is reported to have passed on Saturday, March 20 after battling Covid-19 for two weeks. "She was discharged on Thursday but on Friday night, her condition deteriorated and she was rushed back to the hospital. She succumbed on Saturday at around 9:30 a.m," a family member stated. The Deputy Governor was serving the second and final term having been first elected in the year 2013 together with Governor Paul Kiprono Chepkwony. Wiper’s Agnes Kavindu Muthama wins by landslide.

Machakos IEBC returning officer Joyce wanyama has declared the winner of the just concluded Machakos senatorial by-election. She won by 104,352 votes followed by Urbanus Muthama Ngrngele of UDA who got 19,726 votes. Ms wamalwa is among officials who were concerned by the low voter turn out recorded in the mini poll. The win ends weeks of election characterized by intense campaigns that kicked off following the death of senator Bonifance Kabaka 3 months ago. Many observers saw by election as contest between Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and deputy William Ruto who is associated with UDA.

Magufuli body arrives at Uhuru Stadium for Public viewing.

The body of the late former president John Pombe Magufuli was on Saturday to Uhuru Stadium for public viewing. This was after a brief funeral service held at St.Peter Oysterbay church. The body was carried in a military truck under tight security security by Tanzania Defense Forces. Tanzania flocked to the streets to catch a glimpse of the convoy carrying the late president’s remains. At Uhuru stadium citizens consoled magufuli’s Janet as grief overwhelmed her. Thousands of Tanzanias were seen seated at he 23,000 seat capacity stadium to pay their respects. Magufuli will be buried on March 25.

Tanzania president John Pombe Magufuli is dead. This message was revealed by Tanzania Vice president,Samia Suluhu Hassan that magufuli died of heart complications. Samia said that magufuli was hospitalized on March 6 at the Jakaya Kikwete cardiac institute and died in Mzena State Hospital in Dar es Salaam. BBI proposal on distribution on 70 constituencies.

The IEBC has termed as unconstitutional the proposal in the BBI to allocate 70 constituencies to some 28 counties. Chairman wafula chebukati said while BBI promoters are right to create the constituencies they errared in allocating constituencies specific counties. The chairman said this before the Joint Justice and legal Affairs committees of parliament on the constitution of Kenya (Ammendment) Bill 2020.
