Uhuru, Raila tour projects in the city.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga on Thursday toured the new green park bus terminal at Railway club. The two inspected various projects within Nairobi they started with Green Park Terminus. Uhuru and Raila were seen walking as they looked around the terminus accompanied by government officials. They later went to a room where they were shown how far the project has proceeded. The aim of the terminus is to decongest the CBD. Boda boda and taxis will use another tarmacked designated area. It will be the drop off and pick up points for about 140 matatus using the Ngong and Langata routes. Obama allegedly to attend Mama Sarah burial rites.

Former Us President Barack Obama is allegedly coming to Kenya on Thursday to attend the burial rites of his late grandmother Mama Sarah Obama. Mama Sarah 99, died on Monday morning at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga teaching and referral hospital in Kisumu where she had been admitted since Saturday last week. The plane carrying Obama and his family is expected to touch down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 7.15pm. Obama will be accompanied by his wife Michelle Obama and two daughters Malia and Sasha. Raila now Covid-19 free.

ODM party leader Raila Odinga has tested negative for Covid-19. The party confirmed via Twitter on Wednesday that Raila is out of danger of the virus and is focused on pending issues. He tested positive for the virus on 11 March 31, 2021, when he checked into Nairobi Hospital for a series of test after complaining of fatigue when returning from a five-day tour from the coast. Raila met with party officials on Wednesday to discuss recent developments in the country including the ongoing countrywide vaccination and the state of the country’s economy. Kiambaa Member of Parliament dies in Nairobi.

Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange has succumbed to Covid-19 related complications. He passed in Nairobi Hospital where he was receiving treatment on Wednesday early morning. Koinange was among the forefront campaign for the building bridges initiative (BBI) in Kiambu County. President Uhuru Kenyatta mourned him as a keen and steadfast supporter of the country’s peace agenda through the House committee he chaired. National Speaker Justin Mturi said the National Assembly has been robbed off a dependable member of parliament.

John Magufuli’s burial underway in Chato,Tanzania.

Tanzania fifth president John Magufuli is set to be buried Friday afternoon in Chato. The body of the late president arrived in Chato,north western Tanzania. President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Ex-presidents Ali Hassan Mwinyi and Jakaya Kikwete among other dignitaries are in attendance. Mr.Magufuli died on March 17 from heart complications at Mzena Hospital and current president Samia Suluhu announced his death on the same day.

Uhuru orders lockdown in 5 Counties.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared a cessation of movement in five counties, this include Nairobi, Kajiado,Machakos,Kiambu and Nakuru counties. The counties were put under cessation of movement for the next 30 days. Uhuru said kenya’s covid positivity rate has jumped tenfold from 2.6% in January to 22% in March. This means that if you test positive 100 people,20 will test positive worse in Nairobi where six out of ten test positive. Uhuru said the third wave is expected to peak in the next 30 days. The Kenya private sector Alliance had asked uhuru Kenyatta to impose strict measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

Governor Nyong’o suspends county Askaris captured dragging a woman.

Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o has suspended 12 county enforcement officers who were captured on camera dragging a woman on tarmac road. In a statement the governor regretted the actions of the county askaris which he termed as saddening and shocking. Beatrice Magolo had been arrested on Wednesday by county askaris and after the incident treated at the Kisumu County Hospital. The incident attracted fury from members of the public on social media, calling on the governor to take responsibility for the actions of the county askaris. Ruto says he is ready to join UDA.

Deputy president William Ruto claims Jubilee is being turned into tribal grouping. He also hinted at a possible union with Orange democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga,whom he celebrated as one fighting a similar war in opposition. The ruling Jubilee party however argues that it was disingenuous for Ruto team to be in both parties at the same time and that they should resign to seek a fresh mandate in the new UDA party. Arguing that his vision for a national party was still intact Dr.Ruto said just as they had hoped jubilee will be the ruling party that was truly national it was possible to build a similar outfit using the same strategy. He also urged Kenyans to take the vaccination in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

President John Magufuli body arrives in Ancestral home

The body of the late president John Magufuli has arrived at his ancestral home in Chato for the Tanzanian leader’s state burial on Friday. Dozens of people lined the routes as the coffin carrying his body was accompanied by military vehicles. Among the people who attended this ceremony are musicians such as Nandy and Alikiba who performed their music that they had written for their late president. The burial is set to take place on Friday at his home in Chato. The burial will be attended by members of state as they lay Magufuli to rest.

Jubilee party Executive Director James Waweru is dead.

Jubilee party executive director James Waweru has died at Karen Hospital . Waweru served as Sports PS and Nairobi PC under retired president Mwai Kibaki’s administration. He took over the party’s operation last year in February following jubilee secretary general Raphael Tuju’s road accident. Tuju is expecte to address the media at Lee funeral home following waweru’s death.
