President Ruto appoints 16 female ambassadors
President William Ruto has announced the appointment of 16 women as ambassadors to various countries across the world.
Speaking on Friday, Ruto said the appointments are in honour of the contribution of women in the leadership of the country.
Of the 16 appointments, 10 will serve as ambassadors while the remaining six will be deputy ambassadors.
"This morning I have appointed 10 more women as ambassadors in different parts of the world and another six deputy ambassadors in recognition of the contribution of women in the leadership of women," Ruto said.
He, however, did not disclose which countries they had been appointed to.
Ruto affirmed his commitment to ensuring more women come into leadership in the future.
