President Ruto appoints 16 female ambassadors

President William Ruto has announced the appointment of 16 women as ambassadors to various countries across the world. Speaking on Friday, Ruto said the appointments are in honour of the contribution of women in the leadership of the country. Of the 16 appointments, 10 will serve as ambassadors while the remaining six will be deputy ambassadors. "This morning I have appointed 10 more women as ambassadors in different parts of the world and another six deputy ambassadors in recognition of the contribution of women in the leadership of women," Ruto said. Ruto Signs Into Law Bill Allocating Counties Additional Ksh.46 Billion

President William Ruto on Monday assented to the County Governments Additional Allocations Bill, 2023 which will see counties receive an additional Ksh.46.3 billion to cater for the Financial Year 2023/2024. President Ruto signed the bill from State House Nairobi, in the presence of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Speakers Moses Wetangula (National Assembly) and Amason Kingi (Senate) and Council of Governor chairperson Anne Waiguru. Faith Odhiambo elected new LSK president

Faith Odhiambo  has been elected the new Law Society of Kenya  president Odhiambo who served as Vice President of the society ahead of the polls was elected in Thursday's elections. She becomes the 51st President of the Council, succeeding Eric Theuri. Theuri’s term will expire on March 25, 2024. The position was, however, declared vacant on December 5, 2023, as per the LSK General Regulations, 2020. The regulations require that the position is declared vacant at least three months before the 15th day of March of the year the elections are to be held.
