Cab-hailing app Bolt has claimed that they have suspended a driver registered to their app who was seen flashing his private parts while driving a female customer. In the now-viral video, the driver unzipped his pants when the lady immediately ordered him to stop the car and drop them off. The lady asked the driver "Why are you undressing? Drop me there" then signaled her friend who was sitting in the backseat saying "Sally! Alight this man is naked." She then ordered the driver "Drop me." CJ Koome Wants ‘Life Imprisonment’ Sentence Reduced To 30 Years In New Amendment

Chief Justice Martha Koome has presented two bills to parliament that seek to make changes in the penalties given to capital offenders. The bills, Penal Code (Amendment) Bill 2023 and Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) 2023, seek to reduce the sentences of murderers, sex offenders, and those facing life in prison to 30 years. Kenya's current law, which was drafted in the 1930s by its former colony Britain, states that a person can be sentenced to death if found guilty of murder, robbery with violence, or treason. Koome wants parliament to approve a change to Section 112A of the Penal Code in subsection (4) that replaces the word "manslaughter" with the words "second-degree murder." Section 4 of the Penal Code is known as the “principal act.". By amending the principal ...

President Ruto Advised To Stop Revocation Of Title Deeds Of Undeveloped Land

Machakos senator Agnes Kavindu Muthama has called on President William Ruto to stop revoking title deeds of land that has not been developed for over ten years. The senator said on Monday that nobody has a right to take someone's land whatsoever and the law doesn't allow that in Kenya. She termed it sad to hear the president say that title deeds would be revoked from landowners.  Muthama said that some of the owners can't even put their foot on their land in different places as some have been taken by the cartels and needed security to access their lands and develop. She cited the Drumvale farmers in Kamulu where she said many of the owners can't access the lands. “The non-development in the said lands is not their will but fear for their lives thus the government ...
