50 touts arrested in Nairobi after sexual harassment complains

More than 50 touts were Monday night arrested in a police swoop in Nairobi for spanking female commuters and other sexual harassment offences. Police said some of them were operating illegally, others did not have required documents and others were accused of sexual harassment. Some passengers had raised complaints that some matatu crew usually harass them sexually, either by indecent touching, verbally or intentionally rubbing their bodies against them. Police have urged victims to report such incidents. Love triangle linked to murder-suicide case of police couple in Trans Nzoia

Detectives believe the murder-suicide incident of a police couple at Kiungani Police Station, Kiminini, Trans Nzoia, was because of a love triangle. Police say constable Dorcas Chebet, 27 and her husband Alex Andari 28, died of gunshot wounds in their house Sunday morning. It is believed that Chebet killed Andari before killing herself. Detectives who checked their last communications established that Andari had previously accused his wife of infidelity and had contemplated murder at one point. Texts messages also indicated that he enticed her to come for a new phone as a surprise. Two men have been detained at the Lolgorian police station in Trans Mara sub-county, south of Narok, after they were discovered with 313 kilograms of bhang worth more than 9 million shillings packaged inside 90 kg bags. Police Commander Narok Kizito Mutoro said police officers arrested the two, aged 63 and 28, in the Lolgorian area as they ferried the drugs from the Isbania to Nairobi in a  truck. DCI dispatched to River Yala to probe 19 unclaimed bodies

A special forensic team has been dispatched to River Yala in a bid to probe the 19 unclaimed bodies. In a statement on Wednesday, Police spokesman Bruno Shioso said the bodies had been dumped in the river for the past two years. The bodies were found in sacks, some tied up and others mutilated.  He denied claims that the 19 bodies were dumped at once. "Despite an appeal from the police, no one has come forward to claim the bodies," he said. Shioso appealed to anyone with information to come forward to aid in the investigations.
