Police Impound 347 Rolls, 364 Stems Of Bhang In Separate Operations

Police officers in Siaya county nabbed 347 rolls of bhang on Wednesday that were stacked in a suitcase and a backpack. The National Police Service (NPS), confirming the incident, said that the bags belonged to suspects believed to be minors who had boarded a Nairobi-bound bus. The suspects, however, upon being questioned about the contents of the luggage, abandoned the bags and darted off. A manhunt is currently on to bring the suspects to book. Elsewhere in Nakuru county, police raided a farm in Solai location and discovered it was a breeding ground for bhang. Three hundred and sixty-four cannabis plants, according to NPS, were found on the farm believed to belong to Joseph Ng'ang'a, a suspect in the case. Woman Arrested For Burning Children’s Hands In Athi River

A woman has been arrested after burning her children's hands in Athi River, Machakos County. Police said the woman burnt the hands of her children, aged 6 and 8, as punishment for eating sugar. Kinanie area chief Josphat Musinga confirmed the incident saying the woman committed the heinous act at Kilili area, using a hot knife and nylon paper. "We visited the children in school after receiving a report about the incident. We then took them to Athi River Hospital for treatment," Musinga told Citizen Digital. The suspect spent Wednesday night at Athi River Police Station pending her arraignment.

A military doctor is in custody for allegedly firing at a boda boda rider who dropped off his daughter at their home in Syokimau, Machakos County on Thursday night. Wycliffe Atendo, an online rider who operates in Nairobi, is said to have received a request from a client at Kimathi street in the CBD heading to White House estate, in Syokimau. Six Killed, 8 Injured After Gas Cylinder Explodes In Matatu On Thika-Garissa Highway

Six people have died and eight others seriously injured after a matatu they were travelling in collided with a car in a road accident at Kwa Majini bridge on the Thika-Garissa highway in Machakos County. The deceased were burnt beyond recognition after a gas cylinder that was in the matatu burst into flames following the collision. A task force has already presented a pre-feasibility study report on the findings of the construction of the four-lane Nairobi- Mombasa Expressway. The study was undertaken by the Korean Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation Africa (KIND) in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works and the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA). Students of Kakamega High rushed to hospital following stampede

A stampede at the Kakamega High School has led to 13 students being rushed to the Kakamega County General Hospital for treatment. The students are said to have fallen from the first floor of a building block while rushing out of their classroom. The students were running in haste after a fight broke out in the class. It is alleged that two students had been involved in an altercation when one student pushed the other while throwing punches at each other. Soon after, one student fell to the ground when a steel guard rail on the staircase snapped. Panicked onlookers soon rushed out of their classes which later resulted in a stampede. Man Kills Mother Over 6000 Shillings In Kirinyaga County

Police in Kirinyaga have arrested a man suspected of killing his mother in Kiarigi village in Mwea East. Area police commander Daniel Kitavi said the suspect, Ephantus Kiura Ndambiri was arrested at Gacuriri village in Mbeere, Embu County. The 53-year-old is said to have hit 75-year-old Grace Muthoni Ndambiri with a blunt object on June 12, 2022 killing her on the spot. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had differed with his mother after she allegedly turned down his request to hand him Ksh.6000 shillings.The suspect is being held at Wanguru police station after the court granted investigators two weeks to probe the matter.

Court Freezes Ksh.115M Wired From Mauritius To Kenyan Woman

The High Court has frozen some Ksh.115 million wired to another Kenyan woman identified as Isabel Nyaguthii Wanjohi by a company registered in Mauritius. The money is believed to be proceeds of crime and was found in a Standard Chartered Bank account belonging to Ms. Wanjohi, who is an employee of Platinum Credit Limited. Lady Justice Esther Maina of the ​ Anti-corruption court on Tuesday directed Standard Chartered to transfer the money to Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) for preservation, pending determination of the case. According to ARA, Ms. Wanjohi received $1million on April 13 from Platcorp Holding Limited purported to be an unsecured loan whose purpose wasn’t disclosed. Four police Officers in ATM heist suspect’s murder to face charges

Four police officers are on Tuesday expected to be charged with murder at a Milimani court for allegedly killing a man in Kayole, Nairobi. Corporals Joseph Ojode and Charles Kirimi and constables Bashir Ali and Henry Mutai were allegedly inlvoved in the murder of Wycliffe Owuor in Kayole.  Owuor was one of the suspects in the Sh72 million Nairobi West ATM heist that took place in 2019. "They will face murder charges contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of penal code," a police report said. The officers, all stationed at the Kayole Police Station, were arrested on Monday and detained at Capitol Hill Police station in Kilimani.
