Body of Gunmen killed in Kisumu yet to be claimed.

The body of a gunman who was involved in the Kisumu shooting frenzy last Friday has not been claimed and neither has his identity been established. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), nobody has come forward to claim his body or even identify him as a relative, further complicating the investigations. “Preliminary forensic investigations indicate that the assailant’s details cannot be traced in respective government records. The three identity cards that were found in his possession belong to other individuals who have since been identified,” the DCI said. During the incident last Friday, the man is said to have snatched a firearm from a traffic police officer and shot at civilians indiscriminately, killing two people and injuring several others.

Omar Lali summoned by Nairobi court over Tecra’s Death.

A court in Nairobi has issued summons for Omar Lali and six others to offer their testimonies into the death of Tecra Muigai. The magistrate noted that the 11 witnesses mentioned Lali’s name several times therefore it was important for him to appear in court in person or even through his lawyer. The deceased familys lawyer Elisha Ongwae told the court that Lali is a compellable witness and a person of interest in the case. Tabitha Karanja the deceased mother told the court earlier this week that she found out that her daughter had made ban transactions and Mpesa transfers to Lali account. Mrs Karanja said all she wants is justice for her family as well as the nation loss of Tecra’s death. 33 more witnesses are expected to appear in court.

KDF rolls out Covid-19 vaccination .

The Kenya Defense Forces today rolled out the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine to its personnel. Chief defense General Robert Kibochi said this will see all the soldiers and their families get a jab. Speaking at the Kahawa Garrison Kibochi said the soldiers should ignore the fake rumors surrounding the vaccine and take the jab. He said the vaccination was happening at all their garrison include Mtongwe, Nanyuki, Laikipia and Gilgil. He also insisted and assure troops in Somalia will be reached so they do not feel left out. He added that 5,000 new recruits in various training centers will get the vaccination which will play a key role in ensuring that none get infected.
