A KBC journalist shot dead in her house in Ngong during a robbery. Betty Barasa, a video editor with the national broadcaster was shot in Ololua area, Ngong. Barasa had arrived at her home at about 8.20pm when a gang that was waiting at the entrance forced their way into the compound as the gate was opened, witnesses said. She was on duty on Wednesday and had left the broadcast house in the city centre for her new home hoping to join her husband and three children. She had recently moved into the house. According to her family, three men had been waiting for her to arrive. Two of them were armed with AK47 rifles. She drove to the gate and the househelp rushed to open it. Matiang’i bodyguard kills his wife and himself.

A bodyguard attached to Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi’s killed his wife,who was a traffic officer and himself in their home. Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai said preliminary investigations showed the General Service Unit (GSU) officer, Hudson Wakise, shot and killed his wife, Pauline Wakasa, before turning the gun on himself. Officers who visited the scene found the bodies in the sitting room. Mutyambai who mourned the incident said the couple may have had a domestic quarrel before the shooting incident. Wakise, who had been off duty since April 1, reported back to work on April 6 but left at 3 pm and went home outside the GSU camp in Ruaraka where the incident happened. Dozens killed in Malindi road crash

At least 14 people died in a road crash on the Malindi-Kilifi Highway on Wednesday morning.  The accident involved Muhsin bus from Mombasa to Garissa and a Sabaki shuttle minibus heading to Mombasa from Marereni. Kilifi county commissioner Kutswa Olaka confirmed 15 people died and another 14 were injured in the crash. Both drivers died on the spot. There are also several Kilifi county government employees who have died from the crash. Eyewitnesses said the bus heading to Garissa was overtaking and lost control hitting the shuttle killing over 20 and leaving many others in critical condition. School principal arrested for leaking KCSE Examination.

A Machakos County Principal has been arrested for allegedly leaking the KCSE Mathematics Paper 2. Machakos DCIO Rhoda Kanyi,took the detectives to ABC Kiseveni Secondary School where they arrested the school head identified as Betta Mutuku. According to the DCIO, the principal uploaded the paper on her WhatsApp status on Monday evening. She is currently in police custody at Machakos Police Station pending further investigations.

Magoha announced this on Monday in Kisumu saying they are on the right track with only the marking of Kiswahili Insha and English Composition currently ongoing. The CS said the invigilator in Kitui who sent away a pupil during the composition examination will be dealt with and will face the law. He however said the pupil will be graded minus the composition exam. Police in Machakos have launched a probe into an incident in which their colleague is accused of fatally shooting a herder on Sunday. Victor Kariuki of Cipu was arrested and locked up at Machakos police station following the evening incident that occurred at Vet Farm, opposite the governor's office. Muendo Maundu, 38, died on the spot after he was shot in the shoulder. According to the police report, Kariuki had responded to a distress call from security officers deployed at the farm who informed him that there were herders who were illegally grazing there. A Bangladesh ferry carrying around 50 passengers collided with a cargo vessel and sank on Sunday in the Shitalakhsya River south of the capital Dhaka, leaving at least 26 people dead and a few still missing, officials said. Twenty one bodies had been recovered on Monday.
