Kembi Gitura’s appointment to Kemsa Board revoked by President Uhuru.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has revoked the appointment of Kembi Gituri to the Kemsa board. He has instead appointed Mary Mwadime as the chairperson of the board. In a Gazette notice dated April, the president said that Mwadime’s term in office will start on April 30 for a period of three years. The revocation follows the Kemsa procurement scandal. Last month, lawmakers raised concerns over Gitura's appointment to the Communications Authority. The committee chaired by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir said the appointment of the former Murang’a senator was in bad taste considering the investigation into the Kemsa scandal was ongoing. The Communication Authority of Kenya has suspended Mt Kenya TV's operations for four weeks following violations of programming standards. The authority on Wednesday said it received complaints against the vernacular channel over the airing of inappropriate content on April 19, 2021, at 2pm. Authority acting director general Mercy Wanjau said that during the ‘Mucii wa Ciina’ programme that featured an animated movie, the station aired sexually explicit content, drug abuse, robbery, and violence. The Nairobi Metropolitan Service conducts  Green Park Terminus test run for matatus plying Ngong Road. The NMS Director for Roads Engineer Michale Ochieng on site to supervise the test run at the terminus from as early as 6 am. A court has found Jane Muthoni, the woman accused of killing Kiiru Boys High School Principal Solomon Mwangi Mbuthi, guilty of murder. At least 41 dead as migrant boat sinks off Tunisia.

At least 41 people, including a child, have died after a boat carrying African migrants to Europe sank off Tunisia, the UN refugee agency and International Organization for Migration said on Friday. "According to reports from local UNHCR and IOM teams, three survivors were rescued by the Tunisian National Coast Guard" following Thursday's sinking, they said in a joint statement.
