An Ethiopian businessman based in Nairobi is missing after he was abducted by unknown people on Friday, November 19. Samson Teklemichael was driving his Bentley car when he was stopped in broad daylight by a man wearing traffic police uniforms and later removed by other men in civilian clothes. He was later dragged into a Subaru car as other road users recorded the drama. He has not been seen or heard of since then. His wife Milen Mezgebo said she cannot locate him since then. Kenya has paid Sh238.9billion of its total public debt

Kenya has paid Sh238.9 billion of its debt in the past three months, out of its revised total debt obligation this financial year. According to the National Treasury statement of Actual Revenues and Net Exchequer Issues as of September 30, the government will only manage Sh955.6billion going by the current trends. This is Sh213.5 billion shy of the country's Sh1.17trillion debt obligation. According to a recent report on the status of Kenya's debt, the country's debt will be Sh8.7 trillion by end of June next year. The rising debt stock is what resulted in the high debt servicing expenditure amounting to Sh1.17 trillion up from the projected Sh952.7 billion. Civil servants face drastic pay cuts starting April next year following an advisory of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission reducing allowances from 247 to five. Workers in public service institutions will from April 30, 2022 only earn house, commuter, job-related, task-related and labour market adjustment allowances. Even so, the salaries agency would regularly review the extra perks taking into account their affordability and fiscal sustainability.
