Days after revealing details about his failed marriage to Anerlisa Muigai, musician Ben Pol has been forced to eat some extra humble pie.
‘I want to apologise for the things that I said about my marriage during my series of interviews with Millard Ayo which started airing on January 13,” Ben Pol said in a statement on Monday.
According to the ‘Moyo Mashine’ hitmaker, his intention was not to hurt anyone but to share his marriage experience.
‘I take responsibility for this experience and wanted to articulate how it affected my mental health. I recognise that my words were hurtful to my ex-wife and I apologise to her and the public.”
In the said interview, Ben Pol discussed weaknesses that led to their divorce. His apology came just hours after his ex-wife, Keroche Breweries heiress Anerlisa Muigai, took to Instagram to reveal a series of messages she received from him.
Anerlisa claimed that she was sick of being painted as a bad person and expressly threw doubt on the prospect of ever patching things up with her ex-husband.
In the series of messages that she shared, her ex-husband could be seen texting and pouring out his heart to his ex-flame.
‘I tried to decorate our Christmas tree, was thinking of you.” one of the messages allegedly authored by Benpol reads.
“I want to let you know that I was never with you because of money, in fact during our relationship, it was the time that I was making the least money in my whole 12+ years career, but I was okay and I never complained about it…I loved the space and the idea that we were going to grow together.”
The couple exchanged nuptials in 2020, and went separate ways 11 months later.
