Former screen siren Betty Kyallo, the quintessential Nairobi tabloid fixture, celebrated her pre-birthday in a dazzling mix of pomp, champagne, flowers and a lot of good vibes.
The TV girl, whose private life has more often than not hit the headlines, tagged along her sister and close confidant Mercy Kyallo to the festivities at the popular Club Gemini as she glowed in a black sequined dress, minimal makeup and a mane of thick, flowing hair.
Betty danced along to a string of Afro-beat hits as club waitresses bedazzled her with champagne delivered in an outlandish, flickering splendour.
Betty, who will be turning 33 on March 15, has been building up for her big day with a string of events and launches, one of which was the launch of the Magic Business Centre in downtown Nairobi, a business that she co-owns with a friend and that has seen her rake in big bucks in less than a year.
Typically, Betty, the pre-birthday party featured all the stops – a lot of laughter, showmanship, expensive liquor and great friends.
Her friends showered her with flowers as she soaked in the love and joy as evidenced by videos shared by Eugene Mbugua, a docu-reality filmmaker who is the executive producer of Betty’s upcoming reality TV show.
Last year, the buoyant star lavishly celebrated her birthday in the idyllic Island of Lamu.
