Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja will unveil his long-awaited list of his County Executive Committee (CEC) members on Wednesday.

Sakaja made the announcement during an interview with Radio Citizen’s Vincent Ateya on Wednesday morning, where he noted that the Nairobi County Assembly is ready to vet the nominees.

“Today I will be announcing my CEC members, I have already set up the county assembly and its leadership,” said Sakaja.

The county boss, who previously served as Nairobi Senator, noted that he has hit the ground running since his swearing-in on August 25 and some of his proposed projects are already underway.

“We’ve already started working, for instance the garbage menace that we found, we have already collected 82 tonnes of garbage in the last one month. Gitanga road, Jogoo road… and we were doing this without a budget because the MCAs are yet to approve it,” he said.

Among the other plans which he said his administration has rolled out are reforming the county transport and healthcare systems.
