Police officers in Siaya county nabbed 347 rolls of bhang on Wednesday that were stacked in a suitcase and a backpack.
The National Police Service (NPS), confirming the incident, said that the bags belonged to suspects believed to be minors who had boarded a Nairobi-bound bus.
The suspects, however, upon being questioned about the contents of the luggage, abandoned the bags and darted off.
A manhunt is currently on to bring the suspects to book.
Elsewhere in Nakuru county, police raided a farm in Solai location and discovered it was a breeding ground for bhang.
Three hundred and sixty-four cannabis plants, according to NPS, were found on the farm believed to belong to Joseph Ng’ang’a, a suspect in the case.
Police have in the meantime appealed to members of the public for information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects in both cases.
