Siaya Senator James Orengo has been given a direct ticket in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for his gubernatorial race in the August General Election.
Orengo will be running against former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo of the United Democratic Movement (UDM) in the race to succeed Cornel Rasanga.
This comes ahead of ODM’s primaries in Siaya County which are slated for Wednesday, April 13, for the parliamentary seats, MCAs and the woman representative.
East African Legislative Assembly MP Oburu Oginga, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi and Rarieda MP Otiende Amolo have also bagged direct nominations for their respective bids.
Wandayi and Amolo are seeking to defend their current seats.
